Government Rating on 2001 Mustang V6-
Man. 19city/29hwy
Automatic 19city/27hwy

This is the government rating that was printed on the original mfgr window sticker and probably willhave absolutly no bearing on the kind actual mileage you get but I thought you'ld want to know !

Enjoy your 'new to you' Pony

well if you mean over all miles.
i got a friend who has a 2001 V6 Mustang and it has 145,000 miles and still runs strong
if you take care of the car (I.E. change the oil as often as you are suposed to, get regular tune ups.) your car will last for over 175,000 miles They are very durable cars Trust me i got ALOT of friends with V6 mustangs and alot of friends with V8's and both last a long time AND i own a V6 mustang and my dad has owned 4 mustangs and mom has owned 5 all fo them have lasted a while

~~~~~~UPDATE~~~~~~~
5-speed manual: 20/30
4-speed automatic: 20/26
---------------------------------------
These are the stats for the 2001 mustang so your auto should be gettin 26-30MPG on the highway
Honestly, don't buy a V6.
1. Exhaust leaks, Exhaust leaks, Exhaust leaks.
2. The 3.8 l engine is not going to last you anywhere near the 4.6 l would (if driven the same)
Just my 2 cents.
least puzzling aspect, exceedingly with more desirable, lazier American engines ( i respect American autos, it is merely the in basic terms thanks to describe them) Is to boost air intake, cool or forced air intake will boost your horse power. of course a short charger will boost your quarter %, besides the undeniable fact that technically no longer by increasing your horse power, yet it is extra severe priced. lowering your vehicle will boost downward rigidity, and boost % at the same time as cornering.... yet you own a mustang, you do not care about cornering, excellent? i have self belief a similar way, it is all about straight away line acceleration with the mustangs. New tires would boost traction and torque, compared to backpipes.... besides the undeniable fact that they quite don't have any result on your %/acceleration/traction.... i do not comprehend why you're moaning about backpressure, it is semantics contained in the grand scheme of issues... Burning out is a nasty aspect. and easily a waste of that more desirable horsepower you spent funds on.... pc chips are for already particularly tuned autos, and do extra for accurate % than acceleration... no longer what you want in a mustang. So, -new tires - more suitable air intake - depart the area pipes on my own to boost your gas mileage purchase a hybrid... Or force 10kph slower than the speed decrease, and spoil as low as achievable.
That depends on allot of things, first off is it an auto or stick? second depends on your driving habits and third depends on your speed and how fast you get up to speed and most of all depends on the condition of the car but you should be getting close to 30 with all of the right conditions.
As long as you maintain them, they are real work horses. My guess you will get 200k out of the motor.
