this is not a biography it is a fictional account of some author so you can determine whatever you wish whatever suits your way of thinking do you really believe there was a garden a tree a man a woman and a snake? would you not see the story in another fashion such as a fable maybe try to put this tale into a different view then try to understand what the author was really treying to project if you can do this you will have the answer.think again about the wording for example it says her husband were they married if so then a rabbi should be included in this story for he performed the ceremony and so we can take the story and build on it and build on it until it suits what we are looking for that is why we have fiction and fact another point taken if he died how then did two sons emerge from his wife? were not cain and abel the sons of adam and eve? therefore he did not die after eating the apple unless there is another immaculate conception that we not know of what say you good people?

Adam didn't die in a day of 24 hours for God one day is like 1000 year so Adam lived 930 years in Genesis chap. 5: verse 5 so he died during the one day of God , he had to fill the earth so God gave him time to have many childrens boys and girls . Lorraine

Personally, I believe the Adam and Eve tale in Genesis is a parable. It is, after all, a favorite technique He uses to teach important life lessons.

Having said that, yes, Adam did die the same day, in that he lost his right to immortality. The wages (earned that same day) of sin is death, the gift of God (gift, not innate character of the "soul") is eternal life.

To continue the lesson: Imagine Adam and Eve's inconsolable grief as they stand over the lifeless body of their son, Abel, and how they must yearn after their other son, Cain, who has fled from God's wrath. Was it all worth it?

first it was a process of dying

in the day you eat of it dying you shall die is more accurate translation

the process of dying started and they would see therir first born son killed at the hand of his brother and death entered the world, they probably owuld prefer they did die immediately

see "....Notice that the Hebrew word ( Strong's # 4191 ) is repeated which is a technique often used in the Hebrew for emphasis and the last of the passage is often translated more literally as "dying thou shall die". A less literal translation is "for as soon as you eat of it, you shall be doomed to die". For we know from reading the rest of the story the penalty was not sudden physical death, but as soon as the disobedience occurred Adam and Eve's relationship with the Lord was drastically changed and they were reduced to hiding in the bushes, the penalties were soon announced, and they were banished from the garden to continue the rest of their life in toil and sorrows...."

second, some people say they died spiritually
they previous had the free ability to choose good and evil and
after that their nature went form good unfallen to fallen
and human will would be radically corrupted by sin

so its partly both, they process of physical death aging and corruption began and spritiual death occured

mankind would need a second Adam, one born of the seed of the woman, one with a unfallen human nature to save form the curse of death and Jesus is the second Adam and believers glorify God leaning on the work of Christ on the cross believing for eternal life

Maybe this is why there are so many high school drop outs, they are afraid it will make them die if they learn from the school of knowledge , but no one has lived 900 years. Not even Jack Lalaine that has access to the best food, exercise , and medical care.

"day" is translated from the original hebrew. When the scripture states "on the day", it literally means that "will be separated".

IN other words but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for when you do, you will surely be separated from God and will begin to decay physically until your physical body decays and Separates from your spirit and you will be separated from eternal life in that body"

Eating from the tree marked his entrance into non-eternal life. So it became his fate to one day die. However he bore many children with Eve and lived to be very old.

His direct conversations w/ God; seeing His face, & living forever all died as results of his eating from the tree of knowledge of good & evil. He & Eve wouldn't have died if they were obedient.

Happy Sabbath 2day.

His inoncence died along with his imortality. I think Eve even used the fact that she was still living after eating the fruit to convince Adam to eat it.

No "die" as in they will lose their relationship with God that is true death.

I agree with the mortality issue as well, they will suffer death psychically as well as they probably won't have suffered the ills of the world we know until they ate the forbidden "fruit"

They were like child that lost their innocence once they ate the fruit.
