I just started trying them out, and it's tough, especially for me since I'm just now trying them at the ripe old age of 43! Does anyone have any tips or encouragement? Appreciate it, thanks!

when your eye HURTS or feels like its dry put in some eye drops. my eyes got dry alot and all i had to do was put in an eye drop and it was all set OR you have your contact on inside out. which will also make your eye hurt

heres a couple tips

1. put a drop or two in your eye before tryin to put the contact in (it makes it easier for the contact to stick to your eye)
2. hold your eye lids open and when you got the contact on your eyeball move your eyeball around (side to side) it makes the contact go into position easier i dont know why it just does
3. if your eyes hurt or are bloodshot use eye drops, lubricate them and your eyes will feel nice and comfy again

ive had contacts for a while now i love them. the hardest part was actully learning how to get them in. when i first started i COULD NOT get them in it would take me like 30min just to get one contact in, but if you keep at it eventully you will get them in REALLY QUICK like i do now, it takes me no more then 10 seconds per contact.

starting at age 43 isnt really a bad thing 1 of my teachers is now 56 and he got contacts last year, my mom got contacts at the age of 53 and my dad got contacts at the age of 36 so it doesnt matter how old you are when you get them.

I hope this helps you out.

When I first got contacts it was really hard to put them in. It took about 15 minutes for each eye now I can put both in in less than 2 minutes. Just keep practicing, the first couple of months to a year put them on in front of a mirror. Be sure to wash your hands before handling your contacts. I use Alco OPTI-FREE solution, it works pretty well my eyes do not get dried out. Try rubbing your contacts with solution before putting them in your eyes. Keep trying and don't give up, you can do it! If I can anyone can.

I wear contacts and I started wearing them about a year ago(I had 20/400 vision). I find them really comfortable and a better alternative than glasses. When I first got them I could feel them in my eyes and they itched a little and I found it really hard to put them in and take them out of my eyes. Now it is really easy and the contacts are very comfortable unless they dry out. Here is a word of advice: never wear them in a pool or around a hot tub because they will dry out and stick to your eye really badly. You should get used to them over the next few days. If your eye REALLY hurts and you can't seem to get used to your contacts then go back to your eye doctor and tell him/her your problem. Good luck!

It feels like sand in your eyes, doesn't it? Keep your eyes moistened with drops to help. But just be patient.

If you don't get used to them within a few days, return to the optometrist for an adjustment. Sometimes, they can be a poor fit. There are also different types that work better for different eyes.

Also, on rare occasions, some people can't wear them comfortably.

Good luck! They're worth the trouble! No steaming up, slipping off, etc.

:)

Honestly, it'll get much easier once you get used to them. You'll be able to pop them in and out in seconds. The first month I used them, it would take forever or it'll go in wrong and my eye will water incontrollably; but don't worry about that.

Maybe the reason you're right eye feels weird is because you put them in the wrong way. Don't forget to check for that because it'll be extremely uncomfortable for the whole day.

Although it's difficult now, you'll be more than fine in a month or so and they won't even be a worry to you anymore.

I used to wear contacts but got so lazy about putting them in that I went back to wearing glasses. If one eye is hurting make sure that the contact is on the right side. When you get ready to put the contacts in check to make sure that contacts form a bowl shape. That is the right side of your contact. Always keep them clean and bring eyedrops with you to rewet your contacts every once in a while. You'll get used to them after a little bit and you'll forget you even have them on.

Maybe your contacts are inside out. There could be something caught under the lense, or you could just be getting used them. I've been wearing contacts for 7 years, sometimes I have discomfort. I resolve it by blinking, moving the lense, putting drops in my eye, or taking them out, cleaning them, and putting them back in. If there is still a problem, consult your eye doc.

Before I put my contacts in I add one eyedrop per lens. (Use eyedrops made for contacts). They move into place easier and are more comfortable. When putting contacts in, use your left hand to put in the right contact and vise versa. Your other hand should be used to hold your eye open. I got contacts six months ago and the best advice I can give you is to find the right teacher.
