While millions of people use marijuana without serious consequences, this isn't true for everyone. In particular, if you're taking Zoloft for depression, you shouldn't use marijuana. Not because they interact with each other, but because you shouldn't be using marijuana, alcohol, or any other mood-altering substance while you're in a vulnerable state (depressed).

Generally speaking, alcohol and marijuana both enhance whatever mood you already have -- if you're happy you get happier, if you're paranoid you get more paranoid, and if you're depressed/sad, you get worse. So don't use them for now.

If you are taking Zoloft, you are probably being treated for depression. Stay on the Zoloft for your condition. I know that marijuana is classified as a depressant as is alcohol. I don't think weed is bad, I like it every now and then. But I am not on antidepressants.

In my opinion, you shouldn't be using either. Marijuana sucks and I've heard a lot of bad things about Zoloft.

Many times Marijuana is more than what you think it is.No one knows when they use it what really is in it.Unless tested by a lab.
It could be laced with all sorts of things. Please don't try to justify using the two together. It is so dangerous to mix drugs or I should say medications,or/and drugs.Alcohol is a drug in liquid form. Many people didn't want to die or overdose but it happened because they didn't know what they used would do to them.

After all my years as a medic, I've never heard of a cannabinoid receptor. The best thing to do, is to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER mix any drugs, or drugs and alcohol. I've picked up many people, especially teens, who've left their house for the last time in a body bag because of this. Best of luck to you..........
