Knowing this stuff is in the bible, why would you want your children exposed to it?
"Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces.

But the Sodomites preferred male angels. The Lot family escaped; Mrs. Lot looked back, became a pillar of salt; father Lot and daughters fled to a cave, at which time the elder daughter proposed: "Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father." --Genesis 19:32.

"Thus were both daughters of Lot with child by their father." --Genesis 19:36.

Moses told his soldiers: "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." --Numbers 31:17-18

Exodus Chapter 21, verse 20:

If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property

that one is my personal favorite, or the one about cutting off a womans hand if she grabs another man by the genitals....I cant believe people want this garbage taught in our classrooms...

yes I have been reading the Bible for over 20 years now and am fully conversant with the passages you mentioned.
This is a warning to you not to mock the children of God and in particular the Prophets of God. If you think that the bears coming out of the woods and killing the yobs is bad, well they brought it all upon themselves. Just like the Lebanese.
Yes people who did bad things are recorded in the Scriptures, and these people who came from that union are today's enemies of Israel. Everything is there for a purpose.
This book is written by God. Why would anyone want to read a book written by man that is made up.
Expose yourself to the Holy Scriptures there are good things in it too and you know that but have juts emphasised the bad bits for your own wicked thoughts.

What makes you think that little children are exposed to it? Every parent I know of teaches what they feel is appropriate for the age of the child. Some of the passages you listed may not be taught till he is grown or near grown. They are taught these things because it is biblical history. They should also be taught what these stories mean. I wonder if you make it a point to complain about violence and sex on TV. I think it is unfortunate that many kids are exposed to much worse on TV, and with no one there to guide them.

Good point, however, taking anything out of context is never a good idea. Before you get verbally bludgeoned please take to study the entirety of each of the texts. I'm not talking about the Sunday School version, or the Sunday Service version....I'm talking about actually studying in depth the entirety of text. Look for the reason behind the reason, and then quote chapter and verse and ask your question.

Well there weren't too many notable female angels mentioned at the beginning...I haven't read the Bible, not likely too, it's hard to follow with all that begetting...sure must have been exhausting for the women...and when it says "lying down next to you" you have this image of fully clothed people being vertical side by side...I'm not likely to expose it to my children. Does that answer your question?

While I see the Bible as the inspired word of God, I realize that it was committed to paper by men. And those men interpretted things as it fit in their lives and times. So we have to look at what is there and understand the context in which it was recorded. If you believe in a still speaking God, one who is alive and active in our lives today, as I believe, you will look for new meaning in his Word and actions every day.

To your questions. I learn something new each time I read my Bible. I have. No I try to stay out of the devil's den. To your statements. until you become a Christian you can not understand Spiritual things, so don't even try.

I know it pretty well. I have read all of it. I have been to an atheist site, and yes my children are exposed to it.

Pick and choose any verse you want to prove any point you like. Taking them out of context, and twisting there meanings, wont prove anything to Christians who know it, and have read it.
