Republicans are more likely to believe that illegal immigrants take advantage of the Welfare system. Churches who help illegal immigrants are probably not part of the Religious Right. There are Liberal churches also who hate the Religious Right. Democrats are more likely to believe that illegal immigrants can successfully integrate themselves into American culture if the government gave them some help doing so.

It's simple

Start with the word Latino: Meaning ruled or controlled by Latin/Rome.

The Catholic Church is all for more of it's members coming to America.

The Red State Right Are more of a hypocritical neofascist group that limits acceptance of new congregants.

So you get 2 versions of the same movie. Sort of a Devil Wears Ponchos kinna dualism.

Vote for Karl Rove in 2008
He said he would deport the racist minutemen at a La Raza conference

Or vote for Bush to stay in power for many more years to come
He called the minutemen vigilantes

Or vote for Mayor Bloomberg of New York
who said that without the undocumented workers the economy would collapse

and I could go on and on

BTW all these I've mentioned are Republicans

so to all the anti illegal immigrants, you have no support in our government so stop whining and get with the program

and remember keep voting Republican

Remember that whole church-and-state argument? Now you see why...the catholic church has its' headquarters in the Vatican, which is located in Italy, but is considered a country unto itself. The catholic church has branch offices, or churches, all over the world, and would very much like to continue to tell people how to run their lives. Kind of think of your DMV clerk, run amok, in a pointy hat with a little stick....I'm all for assessing the Church and its' affiliates and cousins with some taxes, let's see some healthy public oversight over THAT whole mess...

If the Church wanted to be helpful by the "book" they were laid out ways to do that and that they are not following. By not going by the "book" they have been in much trouble over and over for many many years. So yes there is more too that.

Dem-they are out for themselves and the people who put they there-plain and simple.

real simple. the republicans want the law obeyed. these illegal aliens are criminals. the democrats want them here, because the ignorant tend to vote for democrats. the churches want them here, because latin people tend to be very superstitous and kind of dumb. today, this translates into regular church going

Are you asking about Rove, Bush, McCain? They are Repubs? I don't get your question. Tancredo is a true Republican in his stance.
