The most likely source is a loose or worn fan belt or serpentine belt. As it sounds as if you have not a great deal of experience with cars, let me explain.
Inside the engine compartment you have a number of what are called accessories bolted to the engine that are run by one or more belts that are connected to a main pulley on the end of the crank shaft. These accessories include the alternator, the air conditioning compressor, the water pump, sometimes a power steering pump and so on. Now, sometimes manufacturers employ several different belts to run these various accessories, and sometimes they line up all of the pulley wheels into a single plane and weave one very long belt around all of the wheels in a serpentine fashion--hence the name serpentine belt.
Now, typically, when one of these belts becomes worn it begins to lose traction on the wheels it is driving--that is it gets a little slick, not unlike a tire whose tread is worn. Now, add humidity from the rain, or sometimes even high humidity days, or mornings with a heavy dew, and the water becomes a lubricant allowing the belt to slip more. As it slips it produces a squealing sound, just as a tire squeals on the pavement when you stomp on the gas on a powerful car. The tire, like the belt, produces that noise when it slips.
Most of the time this can be cured with a new belt or belts. If, however, you are on a budget, there is a spray on belt dressing you can buy at most auto supply stores that is a fast drying sticky sort of substance that can temporarily improve belt traction and eliminate the squeal. Generally this is best used when the weather is dry and you have to carefully spray it onto the belt while the engine is running to get the dressing properly distributed along the length of the belt.

sounds to me like a loose fan belt or could even be the water pump bearings on there way out, remove fan belt & see if there is any play in waterpump shaft, if nor fit new fan belt that shold cure it, also spray with WD40 (ONLY when engine is cold) especially round the alternator, as the bearings in this could also be dry, if this stops the squeeling then u will need to replace the alternator

Your Car is a CISSY and doesn't like the rain.
lol best to try the clutch as it sounds like it or one of the drive belts are slipping although if is worse when damp the clutch sounds more likely it could be a cable fault or your clutch plates have worn though and need replacing!

ninety 5% possibility it really is a free or glazed accent belt. look at the belt, and if worn or glazed, replace, beforehand it wears your pulley sheaves interior the incorrect aspects. A free belt is not in basic terms noisy, it really is hazardous, because it ought to come off the motor vehicle, leaving you with out ability steerage all of sudden. If the belt is in in sturdy concern yet in basic terms free, tighten belt to cautioned rigidity.

If it is when it is raining, then probly the brakes. Otherwise, it could be a belt. You need to bring it to a mechanic.

Sounds like a loose fan belt. Bring it to a shop or a friend and have someone tighten it. That's all it may be. Best of luck to you.........
