Christians brains are controlled by a fairy tale book

Yes we Christians can think for ourselves. God gave us "free will". For example, God gave you "free will" and you chose to use it to criticize. But the wonderful thing for you is that God is always waiting for you to ask for forgiveness and God is always there to grant it. You may not "get it now" because you are full of anger, but one day you will realize the goodness of God

Well, if it is a fairy tale book, it probably has some of the best insight into human nature that has ever been written.

I see the Bible as a mirror, I hold it up by reading and look at myself.

Most of the time, I don't like what I see.

I don't push it on others, I just hope that one day, people would be open-minded enough to sit down and read it, front to back, and think for themselves whether its a fairy tale or not.

If I shouldn't believe the bible, who should I believe? You?

It is true that many Christians do not think for themselves and let the bible or more likely, someone's distorted view of it do the thinking for them.

They limit God to whatever is in the bible and confuse their picture of reality as described in the bible for the direct experience of it.

They are indeed controlled by the mindset of black and white thinking.

However, to say that "Christians brains are controlled by a fairy tale book" is also an example of black and white thinking.

This means that you are not as far from the fundamentalists christians as you think.

Some mindset, different conclusions.

The Bible is not to be taken literally. We Christians are not supposed to follow the Bible word for word...it is meant to guide us. Yes, Christians do think for themselves; we have freewill. It is our choice as to follow the Bible or not. Even if we choose to follow the Bible, it does not controll us but it is a helpful guide to us Christians. It is extremely rude of you to say that is it a fairy tale book. It's a book that millions of people choose to follow and does not controll us as we have our minds and think for ourselves.

My brain is not controlled by the Bible. I listen to the Bible, let it guide me, but my brain is not controlled by it. Many decisions one makes are a matter of concious and yes, things will be questioned, but they should also be examined. That's why I try to understand things out side of the Bible without actually believing every thing that's said outside of the Bible. I like my beliefs to be informed, and that only strengthens them.

I've never seen a fairy tale book that prophecied so many things with great detail and got them all right. and yes we think for ourselves all the time. I pray that you find God's Love.

Trying to live our lives without the Bible would be like attempting to repair an extremely complex, fragile, and costly piece of equipment without the instruction manual.

If they could think for themselves they would still be poisoned by the bible's contradicting and hypocritical texts so it matters not if they could think for themselves.

Hey n9wff read this.... your bible contradicts itself!!!

Yes, intellegent Christians can, but there are so many unintellegent people. I'm not saying that it's just Christianity that gives solice to unintellegent people, there are just a lot of unintellegent people roaming the Earth.
