Roaring tinnitus is different then ringing tinnitus and I recommend seeing an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor as soon as you can; especially if
1) Your hearing is also diminished
2) You have dizziness or imbalance
3) what you describe as "uncomfortable" is a feeling of pain or pressure.

These are signs of conditions that could be serious, and some of these conditions only respond to treatment when it is administered soon after the onset.

Yes it's also possible that it's just a build-up of wax or pressure or fluid behind the ear drum, but it could be more serious, so you're better safe than sorry.

Outside of seeing a Physician, I would suggest checking to see if your Jaw is tracking properly. If it swings to one side or the other, it is Dysfunctioning. Tinitus is a mystery, and many people have it. Mine is high pitched, and I only hear it if I am in silence.

Your "Lion" in your ear, can be caused by different things.
Tips: Don't chew gum, or eat hard foods, such as candy, or carrots etc. Try to gently stretch your jaw muscles by yawning.
Also, if you are a swimmer, you may have complications from water, etc. Type Tinitus into the search bar. And decide for yourself. You need to keep a log of your symptoms, and how they may fluctuate during certain activities, meals, etc. This way you can review, and be a detective, and your Doctor will have a clue.

Sometimes a warm pack on the Jaw/Ear can reduce the symptoms. Wet a small towel, place it in a baggie in the Microwave for less than a minute, throw a light towel over it, and Voila......a warm pack.

You may have an ear infection or your eustachian tube is plugged up. You may want to see a doctor, my guess they probably will prescribe you some antibiotics if there is no other problems with your ear.

Turn off your blow drier... No maybe if you hold your nose, close your mouth and try to exhale.. this will cause pressure on your sinuses.. That's whats causing the extra noise..
