it can be for some women. It feels like little tiny rocks hitting your abdomen and some woman have hard, sharp pains for days and some women, like myself only have mild cramps that go away after the first day. It's really not anything to be scared of all women go through this part of life. You'll be ok.

During your period, the blood swollen lining of the uterus is shed and leaves the body through the vagina.
The process is painful for some women to varying degrees. I suffer from extremely painful cramps, to the point that I was passing out. My doctor prescribed a pain medication (Celebrex) which works nicely.

Every woman is different. As far as the cramping, don't be too scared. Sometimes a cup of hot tea and a Midol can help you feel better. Sometimes you don't need anything. Why not talk to your mom or go to your local library and check out a book on the subject. That way you will know what to expect. m

For the first time for me, it hurt. Only the stomach pains though. It hurt until I cried, but after that, they came easier and they don't hurt at all anymore. Perhaps you should ask your mom (she was once a kid too ya know! *gasp*) or councelor these things. Don't your school teach of this stuff? Ah well anyways just dont worry. Every girl goes through it and you will too, and then you can answer your own questions. Its different for girls, I can't tell you if it will hurt, Im not in your body.

Clots are normal with the periods for some women because it has to do with the uterus trying to get rid of the lining it built up the rest of the month. Normal clot size is anything that is smaller than a quarter. Anything bigger than the size of a quarter requires an evaluation by your dr. One possibility that could be going on is that of fibroid tumors also called leiomyomas. The dr will help you to try to figure out what could be causing these clots.

It can be painful. Some women have more pain than others do. The pain comes from the contractions in your uterus that pushes the lining of the uterus, the blood, out of it.

well, it isn't painful when it's getting out, you just simply get cramps. And it varies from people to people. Some people's cramps hurts like hell and others don't have cramps at all.
