You need to be absolutely stupid to give your social security number over the phone.
If you have this information and give it away over the phone, you deserve to be taken.
Don't fall into this scam.
Use your check card.

Yes it helps to have a checking acct but not always necessary if you have good credit.
If you have bad credit or no credit you will need a checking account.
If you have no credit or bad credit and can't get a credit card try First Premier Bank once you have a checking account. You can google search them to get their website. One little piece of advice ...don't buy something on a credit card unless you have the money in your pocket. Credit cards can be dangerous. They can also help your credit and be of great value if you know how to play the game. Remember the bigger the spread between your balance owed and your available credit limit the better your credit score. If you want to buy a TV and your available credit is 800.00 and the TV is 700.00 then call them up and ask for a limit increase so your credit score doesn't go down so much. Keep a big spread between what you owe and the amount you could spend. Remember the credit score has alot to do with this.

The same as you need to apply on paper or on-line. I wouldn't give that info over the phone. If they called you, it's a scam.
