i got a hot u.a. for alcohol and wasnt drinking. what could cause this?

Usually something in your diet. Make a list of everything you ate for 48 hours before the test and backtrack the ingredients.

Yes! Food that ferments in your intestines could form alcohol. But usually it's not enough to be detected. In some people it is higher.
