Light because it keeps you fresh. I don't suggest you to wear all black to the beach.

It would be advisable to wear light colored clothes because dark colors absorb the heat that comes from the sun and light colors reflect the heat from the sun.

I think it's cuz the black has all the spectrum of colors in it and so it soaks up the sun and white reflects it because it has no colors in it...something like that!
