Its a great place to visit. There is a nice beach, the Suncentre [a waterworld type place] with two new slides that take you outside. There is the Sea Aquarium, there is also the Pavilion Theatre which has a great range of shows all through the summer season, there is even wrestling on at the Town Hall on a Thursday night. There is a drift park that is being built at the moment on the prom. There is the funfair and Marine Lake where there are Heritage preserved Minature trains that give rides around the lake and are well worth a go. [note worthy as the trains were actually built in Rhyl] Nearby you have the Welsh Mountain Zoo at very reasonable cost and if you go by train there is a curtesy minibus from the station and back.

Rhyl's ok, if you like Arcades.. Anywhere in Wales is nice. Depending on the age of your children, There's Greenacres Farm Park in Mancot just off the Queensferry roundabout. They have a variety of farm animals, Llamas, chinchillas and other animals. They also have a campsite. They have tractor rides as well and a couple of little fairground rides. They have a magician in the "campers barn " on some days. You can phone for further details the phone number is 01244 531147 The opening times are 10.30 -17.00. Ideal for younger children

Sorry, but really cannot think of anything that stands out about Rhyl - just another average seaside town. Been there twice...............I think there is a Sealife centre there.
How about Llandudno further west ? Brilliant cable car ride to the top of the cliff, funfair and amusements along the pier - a nice, friendly place to visit with kids and keep them occupied.
