First of all, I am sorry you have to deal with all of this. I know it is hard and a learning experience for all involved.
I would try talking to your Pastor or clergy and asking for their help. If you do not attend services regularly there are other sources to guide you. I would keep him involved with the process and let him know it is ok to grieve her passing. It is hard to watch a person slowly die. Be there for each other. First check out this information.

I'm not sure if it's considered endangerment, but is there a reason the parents are teaching the child at that age? For one, the child can't legally drive unless he/she has a learner's permit, which most kids get at age 15. If the family lives on a farm and uses farm equipment, then that's another story. So if there's no legitimate reason for the child to be driving, then the child could get a ticket for driving without a permit.

Tell to your kid, that his grandmother is a great person and someday she met Our Lord. Until then, she needs help, friendship and her family in this painful moments. She will be forever in yours heart. Pray and teach your son how to pray for her health.I'm from Portugal. With love.

your son is 13.. not 5.. he doesnt think shes gonna live forever.. mayb for another 20 years or so.. but i mean lady.. come on! just sit him down one night, and tell him that grandma is VERY sick, and she may pass soon, and that you wish she would pass in her sleep, so it doesnt hurt any more..
i dont mean to make this harsh, but he is 13.. and he WILL UNDERSTAND.. give him a chance.. just tell him like an adult,, 13 yr olds hate bein treatd like kids!

If she is lucid and able to remember any of her past, he could take down some of her personal history, either on tape or by hand. It would give him time with her while she's here, and something to help him remember her when she's gone.

It could also help him realize how sick she is.

tell him she is going to a place where is will never be sick anymore. that she will be happy and will be with God and all her family. But she will always be watching over him, and will always love him.... Forever.
