By finding the file usually "my documents", then right-click with your right mouse button, select properties from the menu that pops up, then look at the creation date.

OR

Open the file in word, select file, wait a moment for the whole menu to open or click on the double arrows, so that you see the option "properties" under the file menu, click on properties, then click on the general tab. This will tell you the creation date. Should work the same in power point.

You can go to File -> Properties. And there you can click on Statistics Tab. There the File Created Date, Modified Date and the Accessed date are all listed.

right click the file. you will see date created. If the file was copied, you wont be able to, if i remmeber right, because the way the system handles it, is the copy is a new file, so it stores the attributes of the new file. Hope it helps.
