Personally, I have to choose the bacon. Sausage is just a little too meaty for me. I dont like the texture of it. What about you?

I like both but quality is important. I prefer to purchase both from a reputable custom meat shop... especially the sausage. It's easier to find good bacon in a regular supermarket.

Bacon needs to be lean, smoky, not too salty, not too sweet and very crisp. If I can't get good bacon in the supermarket, I'll get pancetta from the deli area instead.

Sausage needs to be meaty, well seasoned, not salty and not dripping with fat. If I can't get good sausage in the supermarket, I just forget it. All the usual "major" brands of sausage are too fatty for me. It's worth the trip to a specialty meat market.

I love bacon. If it is cooked very crisp and still retains alot of it's flavor, I could eat it for the rest of my life every day. Sausage is good every now and then, like you much with the texture and meaty-ness.

Grilled ham beats em both. Most bacon these days is all fat, and most sausage is full of questionable material cuz companies like to make a buck. But it's still rather easy to find honest to goodness ham, instead of forking over 7 bucks for decent bacon.

Ooh, your atavar - beautiful! I think I'm in love! Oh, you didn't ask about that, did you? Dang! My loss (and your gain, doll)

Me, I happen to like sausage as well as bacon. Particularly the spicier varieties of sausage. As for the bacon, I want mine thick sliced, or better still, gimme slab bacon that I can slice like I want it or use in a variety of different ways. Don't limit yourself - there's a world of culinary adventure awaiting anyone brave enough to start investigating sausage seriously!

It depends on the quality of the sauage...there is nothing worse than the cheap, gritty kind. I like Jimmy Dean sausage, myself. As for bacon...very crisp, please...and I like it the best.

Hmm I like bacon especially if it is crispy. Sausage is too greasy for me, but ham is really good in omelets and such....:)
