The Bible has undoubtfully been changed. Anyone who even argues with that has no understanding of Christianity at all. Nobody can deny that the bible has been changed a number of times. The Bible at the time it was revealed to Jesus was the true word of God, but people began changing it, taking away from it, adding to it, etc. People like King James and Paul made their own version of the bible. The Bible can no longer be the true book of God, but their are some things in the Bible that are true and have withstood all of the edits.

the bible has been changed in it's language of the centuries. that means that there is always the possiblility and probabilty that the translation is not as it was the time before.
that said, this does not invalidate the bible as a whole. let's take out God and Christ for a moment.
we still see the historical figures of Jesus, His life and death and even accounts of His return to life. while we cannot prove without a doubt the Godliness of this figure, we can prove his existence.
if the bible were false, the psuedo-godism of the characters in it, including God, would fail in history.
with the proof of the person, the actions and the death of one man in history, we also find the remains of civilizations that were destroyed.
in the example of jerico's walls, you have only three solutions;
1)the walls were destroyed because the ancient civilization had access to sonic weapons that emitted sound to reduce the walls to rubble;
2) the Hand of God was brought forth. not because He was called by the trumpets, but because he made his presence known after the soldiers proved their faith by attacking a well prepared and fortified army and city with just trumpets;
3) the stone in the walls evolved into pebbles.

I guess one cant be positive or show proof the Bible is not false. For me, something inside tells me that the bible is true, and that there is a God above. And yes over the many hundreds and hundreds of years, less and less live by the bible and what it stands for and speaks of. Many dont have faith or really know much enough about the bible or God these days, for it seems society is trying to erase it and diminish any beliefs that this is true. I think one will know in what they believe, truly inside, what their relegion preference is. Noone can say what relegion is wright, and which relegions are false. Just go with your inside feelings and decide what is right for you what feels right. ***The bible has been around forever****

That's easy... it NEVER WAS the "true word of god." The Old Testament is the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of peripetetic Bronze Age goat herders... along with a tiny bit of actual history and a whole bunch of pseudo-history. The New Testament represents an attempt to update Judeaism in accordance with 'modern', sophisticated philosophies introduced by the Greeks after the conquest of the region by Alexander the Great; it just sort of got out of hand.

The old testament was a collection of stories the Jews told around the camp-fire until someone finally wrote them down. New testament was edited and embellished by the early church long after the events covered were supposed to have occurred, so basically it's a crock.

the bible is an actual book sent by God, but you're right it has been changed over the years to benefit those in charge so they can control the society and stay in power. the basic message however is still the same, you're supposed to do good rather than bad, and all that goes without saying.

I don't read any "new translations" because of that.Its not false,just the new ones that they make to adapt to there lifestyle.I always use King James Version because it is the closest translation of the original scrolls.If I knew Hebrew I would read it in its original form.It is the Word of God because the Bibles says
2Tim 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

No they didn't.
People may indeed try and twist the meaning. But they can not supercede the fact that the Bible is unique in the fact that there are so many surviving manuscripts, that any attempt to guide the translation through predjudice, is impossible to get away with.

I accept the teachings of Christ and believe that they have basically been left untouched by the editors who re-wrote the scriptures.
However, I also believe that much of the Old Testament is myth. Collected tales passed down from one generation to the next, with each generalion exaggerating and adding to the stories. With few, if any, of them having proof that they ever happened.

it is an ongoing instruction booklet for the mentally impaired.ONCE you let that sink in it is a employee hand book too.
AS well as a instruction manuel for failure .
DO not turn the other cheek .
DO not take care of your brother .
DO not get married and divorced.
DO not pass thru the eye of a needle.
DO NOT pass go and collect two hundred .
the bible is just a book and any reflection of gods will is long gone from it .
