Yes fear not for the Lord is with you

In my youth I would have said yes, but time changes your thinking on many things. Today my husband and I received a call from one of our best friends that he had to put his wife in hospice late last night. They are one of those beautiful couples that others wish they could emulate. In all the times we've been with them we've never heard a cross word between them. After all these years they still hold hands. When they aren't together you can tell they feel a part of them is missing. But for the past 6 months she has been fighting cancer that has now spread and her time is short. No, their love will not end but their being able to share it together will. Now we fear for him because we can't imagine how he will get along without her. They have no children as was their choice and their extended family are either gone or very far away. So for the first time in my life I would say that with perfect love comes fear - not that it will end in eternity but through the realization that we have no control over the time we have together in this life. Sorry if this sounds sad or tragic but my heart is truly torn for these dear friends right now.

1 corinthians 13
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

You cannot have perfect love or perfect trust where fear resides.
Fear is what is keeping the human race from enlightenment. Fear is what is fueling humans killing humans in the name of God.

No... perfect love will create a perfect balance, and everything around you will seem perfect, all you try to do together will succeed. but fear of loosing the person will create distrust and the distrust will destroy the perfect relationship.

Probably 95% of all fear. If you feel very comfortable and very trusting, without being infatuated or bubbly or possessive, I guess most relationship fears can be mitigated somewhat, since you won't be so worried about the person, about what they're doing, if they really love you, if they're gonna disappoint you, etc.

Yes, perfect love probably could. The problem is since we are not perfect, neither can we have perfect love.

God has perfect love, we don't. Trusting more in Him gets rid of your fear.
