Looks like a pine cone and grows on trees, with internal seeds. Also there are NO Captains in Captain Crunch cereal..I checked.

For the same reason they call it "hamburger", when it it is a beef product, and why its called, "The Foul Pole" in baseball, even though if a ball hits it, it is considered to be a home run instead of a foul ball

Actually there is. In many countries pineapple is simply reffered to as pine.
