I've been put in charge of getting a list of recommended parenting books together. So was hoping everyone could list their faves for me please. I only have a couple so far. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk". If there was a parenting manual this book would be it but it's not for just kids at all and think it should be required reading for everyone especially teachers. Also "It Takes A Parent" and "The Well Trained Mind" but that one's more for HSers. Thanks for any help!

Well the only one I was going to suggest as a "must read" was the "How to Listen So Kids...."! That is an awesome, awesome book. I've never seen a transformation like the one I had when I really used the tools in that book.

A book on manners for children would be helpful, too, so that parents can teach their children these all-important lessons. It seems that manners and etiquette have fallen by the wayside lately.

That's all I have, but good luck!

What to Expect the First Year and What to Expect the Toddler Years. They help with developmental questions and health issues that might leave young and first time parents overwhelmed.
