um... aren't you being a little bit weird? What are you doing with your time, sitting around and finding parts of the Qaran that are strange?
You really have to know Arabic to read the Qaran; translations are almost always wrong. On that note, the Qaran is the least changed book. The bible has been changed over and over depending on what people wanted... the Qaran has never been edited.

Hmm...it seems to me that either you came across the fakest translation of the Qur'an..
God has said to the Sabbath breakers 'be shamed apes'...that's what you meant..and its past tense, my friend; it refers to the Jews who broke the Sabbath during Moses' time, Peace be upon him. This was before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As for the 'be shamed apes' quote, that's an Arabic insult...
If your translation were true, then who the hell would believe in Islam? You, for one, would be swinging from tree to tree rather than asking your question.
'If the Quran was not from Allah, its critics would find some mistakes in it.'
You got the translation right, but you don't seem to have understood this verse. I don't blame you, however, because you were looking at misinterpretations. Every prophet came with a miracle, depending on interests of the people during that time:
During Moses' (PBUH) time, it was magic. God gave him the ability to alter what his hand looked like when he put it under his other arm. He was also given his magic devouring, water splitting staff.
During Jesus' (PBUH) time on Earth, the main interest was medicine. Thus, Jesus (PBUH) was given his miraculous healing abilities. He also had the ability to speak when he was only a newborn. From the chapter of the Virgin Mary: 'I am Jesus, son of Mary. I am the Truth whom you doubt.' (God quotes Jesus speaking to the people of Nazareth as a newborn).
During Muhammad's (PBUH) time, people were into language to the extent that the Ka'ba in Mecca was decorated with poetry sewed on cloth. The Arabic language is quite complex, with meanings of words changing because of a simple accent (by saying accent, I mean such as the one on the E in cafe). Arabic cannot be mastered, till today. I haven't read many Arabic books free of grammatical errors, and the problem is that if you so much as need to alter a simple accent, the whole sentence must be altered. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was illiterate; a linguistic perfection such as the Qur'an cannot be expected of any Arab, especially an illiterate one! When challenged with coming up with one perfect verse in Arabic, the bedouin pagans of Mecca (who were reputed to be the best speakers and artists of the language alive) failed miserably. This is what God meant by that verse.
Allah will also cause them to cut the catttle's ears and change Allah's creation.
This one's interpretation left me frowning and smiling--frowning at the absurdity (yes, you used the right word!) and smiling because I was wondering what cattle's ears have to do with me just coming out of the bathroom after shaving right now..
'And they (people) will cut the ears of livestock (referring to sheep) to change thenature of God's creation' this is the correct translation. I think you are aware of Dolly, the first cloned animal..cloned from DNA acquired from the cells of a sheep's ear. This verse is thought to refer to this happening, just lke the Qur'an stated that the Earth is round and spoke of elliptical orbits approximately 1400 years ago, while Christians were still closed to that idea, burning people who stated that opinion at the stake, declaring them heretics:)
FYI, the Holy Qur'an stated other scientific evidences back then, clearer than the sheep issue, e.g.: 'And We (God; pluralized to imply His greatness) will replace their skins once the old skins burn, for without their skins, how will they feel the torment?' God was making a reference to hell in the above verse. Modern science has proven that most nerve endings are indeed attached to the skin. Without skin, you will barely feel.
Do me a favor..don't believe everything you read-or hear...do a little bit of research. There are many false versions and misinterpretations going around, some a result of ignorance, and some on purpose--like Bin Laden's barbaric version.(what a hypocrite!) Islam is the only religion that acknowledges the authenticity of both Judaism and Christianity. Also, please be polite. Like I said, I don't blame you for calling what you saw 'absurd', but there're better ways to put it.
