Several churches claimed to have the Crown of Thorns; others claimed to have the water-pots used by Jesus in the miracle at Cana. Some of the wine was to be found at Orleans. Concerning a piece of broiled fish which Peter offered to Jesus, Calvin said: "It must have been wondrously well salted, if it has kept for such a long series of ages

We're in the money, We're in the money, I think that's how that song goes anyhow. Most of those places expect a donation if you want to see the artifact.

People sometimes lie. Have you not learned this? Because people are associated with a church does not give them immunity from human failings.

I don't know these specific churches you're referring to and don't really care what they're claiming. The only claim that matters is that Jesus is the begotten son of God and that his crucifixion saved the world.

Why is it that atheists seem so adamant to disprove Christianity? If you are certain and have proof that God does not exist--which is the atheist's claim--why worry about all of us poor, lost, and misinformed people who believe the word of God? Haven't you better things to do with your time than shout, "Liar! Liar!" One would think that certainty would bring with it a measure of freedom from petty concerns. But I don't see your certainty that God does not exist bringing with it anything other than a desire to go around and get into other people's business, trying to discount Christianity. If you've discounted it, where is the peace this should afford you? A closed question doesn't continue to be open.

These are so unimportant and yes, lies.

Do you have any ideas of the poor state of most materials made around these times? Even the high quality items are rare, and why, why would anyone save them? IT WAS ALL THEY COULD DO TO RECOVER HIS BODY! They barely got it back!

They certainly had no time to worry about saving pots, wine, nails and crosses or cups. Get real, these people were literally worrying about THEIR LIVES, not some keepsakes. Rome was on the look-out for ANY SEDITION, anyone congregating was under suspicion for any reason and would be questioned. Do you think Mary, stood up at her dead sons feet and said, "by the way, you think I could have those Pots?"

Probably. But there are fake relics in every religion. I'm sure there are dozens of towns in India that boast that they have the tree where Buddha reached Nirvana or little hamlets in Ireland that claim to have the bottomless cauldrom of plenty, supposedly brought to Ireland by Dagda himself. Most people know the relics are fake but don't care.

...not to mention the burial shroud. Shrouds were a big business in the middle ages, with the one legendary Shroud of Turin still remaining. Selling bogus relics was a major source of income for ancient churches.

I'm Christian but I don't understand the value or worship of "things" - Including the cross. If Jesus died by knife would we all have knives on top of our churches???

It's all just STUFF - Not likely to have any spiritual value at all.

Just feast on the "word", establish your own relationship with God and do good.

I hope Heavenly Father forgives them. If not, they will be joining you in hell. Simple, really. Pray to Heavenly Father for forgiveness, repent of (turn away from) your sin with the intention of not doing it again and ask Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour. That'll get you into the non-smoking section of the afterlife.

Hey, Faith is a wonderous delusion! You don't need any proof of anything. You can believe in nonsense and have the backing of millions that believe the same thing. You can literally make "Facts" into cow chips. Who needs "Facts" when Cow Chips are everywhere! They are easy to make, they burn easily and you can throw them real far. LOL

Really sad what people would pay thousands of dollars for when that money could have been used to feed starving peasants. And the sad thing is that most are fakes.
