Guy's Point of view...
1/ To prove to each other how masculine they are. If you notice they're always in a group, and the body language is approval seeking but not from you, from each other... how weird is that?
2/ To prove to you how stupid they are. they know it's menacing and insulting... but they do it for the temporary sense of superiority it gives them to see you cringe...
3/ To let you know how cute you are. As a species we don't act like idiots for plain women

They are. Since we're descended from animals, we retained certain instincts. Women are more emotional (I'll assume that comes from having to protect our young and whatnot), but male animals only focus on eating, sleeping, and passing on their genes. I'm not making excuses for them, I hate being whistled at, and i know all men aren't like that, so I wonder sometimes if the hooter/hollerers are just not as highly evolved and in control of themselves as those who are capable of intelligent conversation...

A lot of women would feel very validated to be honked at!

Look ...the more you accept men as who and how they are...the better off you will be...yes men are pigs..dogs...just accept it....but dont get all butthurt about it...they are showing their appreciation for what they are seeing (youve even named yourself cutiepie for chrissakes!)...Men are visually orientated..stimulated...hence all the porn nudies , hoots and hollers...try to love men for the poor cavemen they are...they sure love women!!!!

Maybe it is the way you dress. I know that makes a difference. It happens all the time to women that wear skimpy clothes. Not sure if that is the problem but if you don't want them doing it maybe you should dress differently.

Just like a cat has to kill little birds, and a dog has to bark at moving cars,GUYS JUST HAVE TO DO IT !!!........They are GUYS, and it's a part of their "job description".
They do it when (either, or both)::
1) You are "hot", or
2) They are horn-dogs.
Don't be sad, forlorn, or upset......Be happy you were noticed, and just accept it as a compliment (even if you are pretty sure that that wasn't truly the guy's intent, or why he was acting so uncivilized)!! (hehe)!

Happens to me enough, I just ignore it. If you don't respond they stop. And, admit it, even though it's sometimes embarrassing, or a little intimidating, you think back on it later and say, " Oh, YEAH. I have SO got it ! "

Maybe the clothes your are wearing are too tight or show too much skin? And yes, they are pigs.
