I'm just curious. I am a healthy young person who has at times commuted over 150 miles per week. I realize that not everyone can operate a bicycle but I would like to see more people out on bikes.
It is good for personal health and better for the environment then fossil feul vehicles.

In my student days I used the bicycle everyday and I loved it!! It was more convenient too as I sometimes had to go back to school after classes for meetings and stuff (I was quite active back then) and it sure beat taking the bus. I remember weaving in and out of traffic just to get to the front of the line. Bicycling is friendly to the environment too.

Yes, if it is possible everyone should bike commute. I have not considered bike commuting myself because of the distance involved but I am using the motorised alternative currently - motorbike. I switched from driving (my car rests at home most of the time now) to riding the motorbike quite recently. It is akin to bicycling but much much faster.

Maybe, just maybe, I will get a bicycle and see where that leads, eh?

yes, I bike to work about once a week, take light rail to work almost every day and drive to work only rarely.

It took some time to find a safe route.

One of the most important tips is use side streets and parallel roads. If you feel your route is not safe you're probably right but you are not going to bike the way you'd drive.

Also always assume the driver does not see you, assume that you're invisible but do everything to be very visible.

Also most cities even small towns have bike clubs, they will have ideas for safer routes.

The specifications on the FCR3 and its pricepoint look like a sturdy experience. I enjoyed my Marin San Raphael ("city" bike), however the situation replace into somewhat intense even although the bars have been flat. whilst i offered the Marin, I have been remote from cycling for particularly a mutually as. during the 1st six months, I gradually diminished the bars till they have been as low because of the fact the inventory stem could enable. i replace into thinking a decrease upward thrust stem, yet I replaced my driving style and have been given a street bike particularly. possibly moustaache bars could be a sturdy opion for you...distinctive driving positions at various heights. in case you somewhat like your modern-day bike and the physique is in super shape, you may in all possibility rejuvinate your Peugeot very correct for below the comparable pricetag with the aid of paying for takeoffs and slightly used aspects.

I dunno about a bicycle but i think more people should learn how to ride motorcycles because they have excellent gas mileage and if its a personal trip why waste the gas driveing a car unless the weather is questionable or your going to pick up something that you cant carry on your bike

I'm a biker and I love it. It gets my muscles warmed up for the day and, as you mentioned, it is a form of clean transportation.
