I have 6 parakeets, and I'm nice to them protecting them from harm but if I stick my hand in the cage to give them a budgie treat they dash around,frantic and afraid. Or if I get near them they'll be frantic. I don't harm them or hurt them. I've had them for a while too.

they get scared easly I have had two of them since I was 8 I am now 13. 5 years and they still fear me you cant change how they fear

did you try placing seed or millet in your hand, they need an incentive
talk softly to them- making clucking sounds- copy them.

that is how they are, we are big scary things to them, they will get used to u eventually..
