I want to visit Canada on misonary work for my local church, but I hear that it is a very dangerous place for Americans.

Is it true that you can get arrested in Montreal for speaking English?

Do all Canadians want to kill Americans?

Is the water safe?

Are Canadians civilised?

Should I bring an armed guard?
Will the US Army provide air-support for my trip?

Omg you're halarious! Yes Montreal is safe. No you cannot get arrested in MTL for speaking english. Actually most of Montreal speaks english as well. You can though get arrested for putting up a sign that is bigger in english then french. If you go there you will notice there are very few english signs and if there are english signs you will have to be very close to read it. They're a little stuck up that way.

No not all Canadians want to kill Americans, you just have to consider some of us have a little hatred for you guys. But also, 49% of people living in Quebec don't want to be Canadian or considered part of Canada... so I don't think you have to really worry there.

LOL yes the water is safe. All water around here is safe, we not Mexico or the damn Middle East!!!

Are we civilized? Lol yes! Again we're not the Middle East. We are as civilized as the States are. And just as far in technology as you are.

No you do not need an armed guard. Unless you're planning to move to Toronto.. then I'd carry a weapon! Lol.. yea Toronto is getting bad for crime.

Will the US army provide air support? K, whats that? Will they help pay for your flight? I dunno were you in the army? That you will have to find out there. We cannot tell you as we are not Americans.

I will warn you though, not so much Quebec but other *real* Canadians are a little hostil towards Americans.. but just be nice... don't act stuck up like most of you United Staters do and you will be fine.

:)

Have fun and enjoy. Canada is a gorgeus country!!

Though I don't live in Montreal I was there in September, so I'll try to help you out. The good thing about Montreal was that almost everyone was bilingual, so you don't really need to worry about speaking French all the time. The weather was pretty nice when I was there, probably not as nice as you're used to, but for early fall it was nice. If you want to be close to everything I would suggest downtown. You could honestly walk almost everywhere. I took a bus while there, which isn't the common thing to do, the subway is what everyone takes apparently. Probably safer than a New York subway. Shopping is great, they have tonnes of underground shopping, which is super cool. it also depends the time of year though as far as activities go. The people were all really nice, I'm a girl and was completely safe walking the streets late at night, for the most part they were all friendly. Hope I helped a bit.

Come on now. I'm from Montréal wich is a wonderful and one of the safest city in the world. Getting arrested for speaking in English??? You think we're retarded or what? And by the way, Montréal IS a bilingual city : French AND English. Montréal's people are also reputated all over the world to be very welcoming with tourists. Dangerous for Americans? Just behave and respect the laws and you'll be fine. Americans who get in trouble are mostly the ones making trouble in bars when they're drunk. Oh, and also...we're neighbors, we live the same way you do....stories about indians and cowboys are over: even if we're up north, it's 90 degrees today, we have tv and cable, we don't use horses to travel anymore. What's up with Americans thinking that we're 100 years old behind them???

We don't need missionaries. We have our own. I doubt it but you get in less trouble if you speak French to the French and English to the English. You make a convincing argument for the idea but most of us will let you live. From the taps and bottles. From the St Lawrence is just like from the Hudson or Mississippi. More so than Americans. We keep sending you people to guide you the message gets lost. They will never get through Customs. Leave the artillery at home. Even in Toronto, it won't save you unless you are the assailant, and then you will get to meet our undesirable customers. They might have trouble finding Canada and then you need to worry about them dropping bombs on you. Canada knows they can't tell friendlies form enemies. I just realize you said Army, I don't think their Curtiss Jennies can fly this far from Rhinebeck.

Dumb American, you are sensational! Some of your questions make me laugh until I cry. (I love the details.) This is the perfect forum for you. It is frightening that you get so MANY answers from exactly the people you are satirising. We can only hope that a lot of them are from children. But you know what... I really don't think they are. Scary stuff.

from your other questions either you are really stupid or....you are not very smart.
You give Americans a bad name. As if they didn't have enough problems with George dubbaya in office.

I change my guess. You're really from Montreal.

Do you have another avatar that you use for serious questions? You seem to stay well "in character" with this one.
