Check out Dreams by Renee; they have absolutely gorgeous dresses PLUS they do custom dresses as well at reasonable prices. http://www.dreamsbyreneebridal.com Also, I am an authorized rep so I will be able to discount any of the dresses you see on their site. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

You can start looking at any time for a wedding dress that is great - I don't think there is a specific time that is better than any other time. Just make sure you go to a wide range of places and try on a wide range of styles. I would say, even try on a couple that you are really unsure about, because you never know what you'll end up loving. I was dead-set on a simple dress with no embellishments but the second I put on my dress and saw all the sparkles and everything I just fell in love with it. Good luck!

I'm assuming you have one in mind? Take only one or two other people with you when you go shopping. Otherwise you'll have more opinions than what you'll know to do with. Take your time. Make sure it's THE one YOU want.

Recently a friend was shopping for her dress. There was another young lady who was there at the time. When this other girl walked out of the dressing room, even strangers were stunned and a couple started crying.....now that's a dress!

When you try them on, don't just stand and admire....move. Do the "chicken dance" if you have to.
I just witnessed a bride spending the entire reception pulling her strapless dress back up over her boobs. It soooo took away from the elegance of the bride.

If it's not a super super fancy wedding, instead of buying a wedding dress, buy a formal prom dress then a veil separately. A lot of people don't want to fuss with the bridal dress price and if you are having it in a garden or beach, prom formal dress look beautiful without all the foo-foo. Then go out and pick out a veil separately or just wear flowers in your hair.

I got mine at Mon Amie ... they have a huge selection. (Newport Beach, CA)
They are expensive, but I got a "sample" dress for 1/2 price. They cleaned it and it looked like new.
