Is smoking pot in front of your children right or wrong?

Question

I was wondering if smoking pot in front of your children is
wrong or in some term right? If you hide your problem from your kids then do you think that later on they will experiment with pot?
or if you expose them to the affects of pot maybe they can determin right or wrong because they've seen with there own eyes
the affects of pot and choose to do it or not. Remember if you can't see what makes people do pot then you yourself will be curious and maybe try it.

Whilst I think pot smoking should be legal. I believe doing anything illegal in front of your child is wrong.

Raised by hippies and speaking from experience.
I believe it is wrong and would never raise my children like that,but... I grew up in a house that did drugs and saw first hand what most people fear. If I ever had any questions or wanted to try something I just had to ask. I didn't have to sneak or use anything of unknown origins. My parents were very open right or wrong. I did not grow up a drug addict just because my parents were. I actually probably used less than most my friends because of the house I lived in. I went on to college and am pretty successful in my own right. I have three wonderful children whom I'm very honest about my life but do not allow or encourage drug use. My father went to prison on drug related charges when I was 19, my mom is now a prescription addict (just as bad) But I am healthy and strong.

You have to ask? You have just taught them something illegal is all right and to break the law. Plus, have you ever talked with teachers about the pot exposed kids they deal with . . . especially after the weekend. It takes a child longer to recover than an adult. It's easy to see who comes from homes where pot is openly smoked. The children really don't do well in school.

Here's an idea. How about you grow up and give up the illegal drugs?!? When you have children you give up the right to do stupid illegal stuff, and until they legalize pot, you are putting your children in danger from the second hand smoke to the allergens that cling to your clothes and furniture from the smoke that may make them highly allergic or asthmatic. So, grow up and give it up and act like a parent!

Honestly I think it's wrong morally. On the other hand my mom did drugs in front of me growing up and . . . lets just say i will NEVER do drugs. It hurt me alot seeing her like that and even ruined our relationship. Now that I'm all grown up with my own family I don't want nothing to do with her. I can't trust her at all. Some times I tell myself ho much I hate her. Wow you opened a wound that I've been hiding for years. But I still think that you should not do it, don't ruin what your kids think of you or your relationship with them.

Its 100% Wrong that you smoke pot

If its even possible smoking Pot where children might breath it in accidently is 200% wrong

and smoking pot infront of them is so wrong its off the wrongness scale.

It's all relative. Not!

There's nothing wrong with smoking pot in front of your kids. In fact, if more parent did that, the kids would stop doing it because it would lose its "cool" factor.

By doing pot in front of your children you are modelling for them that it is O.K. Believe me, this is the most effective 'commercial' for pot use that your kids can ever see, because parents are the most influential role models for children until they start trying to establish their own independence.

Even more importantly, by smoking in front of them they are being exposed to second hand pot smoke. You are not only mentally imprinting in them that it is normal and o.k. to do pot, but you are also physically introducing them to it by giving them mild intoxication of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Please, please, please stop doing this in front of them.

To try to erase the damage you've already done talk to them. Let them know that you made a mistake, and that what you are doing is not a good thing.

What kind of rationale are you using? Look in the mirror and see if this is the example you want to set for your kids. Lead by example. Fight your addiction so your kids can look up to you or your kids and then your grandkids will be shamefully dependent as well. You can do better! Get help if you can't do it with your own will power. Good luck!
