me n a guy went out for 9 months and we have been broke up for 7 months now and i have moved on but he hasnt cause the other day he showed up at my house at 1 am so i could say happy bday 2 him n person and he still acts like we r goin out and i still want to b friends and i dont want 2 hurt him

All you can do is tell him its over and there's no way yall will ever get back together,but you still want to be friends that may not be possible cause some people cant take just being friends after you've broking up so you might have to stop being friends until he gets it "ITS OVER".

This is hard, you still care for him, but in a friendly way! What I think you should do is have a serious conversation with him, flat out tell him he still means a lot to you, but your only interested in being friends. If he can deal with that then your happy to stay in contact and still have a friendship but if he makes it clear that all he wants is a romantic relationships with you, tell him you really want space from him until he can understand what you want. Well, you are putting him through a slow death by talking to him. Once and for all tell him it's over. This showing up at your house at 1 a.m. is a little questionable even if it was his birthday. I guess he was looking for that special present that only you can give him.
