"Normal" is different for everyone. If you feel fit and do not experience any discomfort due to what you feel is too much or too little body fat, you are fine.

You can get proper estimates of your body fat various ways. Being weighed underwater is the most accurate. Or a technician can take measurements at various points on your skin using calipers. They also have methods that use electrical impulses that estimate your body fat composition by measuring the resistance your body creates to the electrical current. (You don't feel anythig while this is happening, by the way).

Your doctor could refer you somewhere that can do a proper scientific measurement, but he or she would probably discourage it if you are not having health problems like obesity or anorexia. Or you can get a bathroom scale with electrical fat content monitoring built in. Some gyms and health clubs offer these services as well.

The charts published by the insurance companies say I should weigh 160-170, but when I am working out and in really good shape, at 200 lbs. my body fat content is 10% -- absolutely perfect. When I'm not working out I gradually hit a rock bottom of 180 as I lose the extra muscle, (that is if I don't gain any extra fat!) To get down to 170 -- supposedly the TOP of my "normal" range -- I would have to starve myself to the point of illness. That seems like a pretty extreme price to pay just to fit someone else's definition of "normalcy"!

So the main thing is not to stress over what is "normal." The better question is, "what is healthy and fulfilling for me?"

your old enough to join a gym. try going to a website for a major gym such as 24 hour or ballys. they tend to offer free trial periods. take advantage of those offers to get your BMI tested. gyms tend to be the most accurate results when it comes to BMI.
as for your weight...its tricky with guys. it really depends on how tall you are and your physical desires. some guys want to be thin and lean other want to be big and buff. it all is up to what you want on a personal level

Depends on the height and if you have muscles. I am a 19 year old woman who is 5'2 and currently weights 100lbs. It's because I am short, not muscular and a woman perhaps..
