The answer will probably be different for everyone, as every pregnancy is different - but I gained: 60 with the first, about 20 with the second, and I'm 8 months pregnant with my third and have gained about 10 pounds. The first pregnancy was full of complications, I had GD as well as preclampsia. The second pregnancy, I lost a lot of weight at the beginning so I didn't gain as much all together. This pregnancy I've kept in shape and was bigger to begin with. I think 20-25 pounds is healthy weight gain, but gaining more is OK too.

This varies on your own weight, metabolism, food cravings, morning sickness, ect. Alot of women brag about only putting on 15-20 pounds for some this is normal for some this is ridiculous. Some women are vain and starve themselves in fear of getting fat even though they have a freaking excuse and they are compromising their child's health and safety. Some women put on 50-75 pounds. My mother is about 5'2" she barely weighed 100 pounds before becoming pregnant with me, she 'showed fairly early on since she had less places to hide, she ended up gaining 65 pounds. The standard figure according to alot of doctors and pregnancy books is around 20-25 pounds. They have a whole formula for it too- 5 pounds of blood, 5 lbs of amniotic fluid, 5 lbs for the baby, 5 pounds of milk, 5 lbs of fat for the safety of the baby. Remember that we are individuals, different women have different periods ( some have terrible PMS and others have no problems), our pregnancies are the same, some women gain a ton of weight, while some barely bulk up. Check with your doctor for what would be an ideal diet plan or amount of weight that is best for you. Also be aware that if you gain too much weight or if you already have high blood pressure, you may be at risk for preeclampsia or gestational diabetes- both of these conditions can endanger you and your baby. Also look around, if women in your family tend to gain alot of weight in their pregnancies you will probably bulk up too. Good luck to you, just eat right and don't overindulge or starve yourself. You can lose the weight after your blessing is born, pushing a stroller and chasing a toddler is great exercise

Son #1 -- 32 lbs. (he's 26) - BACK THEN they said I gained too much.
Son #2 - 22 lbs (he's 17) -- At THAT TIME I didn't gain enough (but he's a very healthy person.
They change their minds all the time about weight and everything - what is right and wrong. When my kids were born, it iwas a no-no to put them to sleep on their backs. NOW, if you don't put them on their backs, something bad can happen. It gets quite confusing. I have a good friend who gained about 80 lbs -- other than that, all her life she was skinny until then - had the baby and went right back to skinny again.

With my first child only 25 lbs, then of course I was younger, after birth lost it all right there on the dilivery table, With my second, maybe 35, lost that pretty fast too. Both boys, when my 3rd child came around, a girl, I gained alot, and I am still trying to loose it. All worth it though. Stay away from sweets and salt.
Best to you.

Between 18-27 pounds (had three kids).

I struggled to gain weight with my pregnancies, though.
