Well from what I've heard about that city, I would bring a gun with me just in case.

Bring nothing except yourself and a camera. We have it all here. Forget the camera, we have that as well.

Seriously, you will need cash or plastic. Most places take VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Your American bank card will work in Canada which will let you withdraw Canadian money from your US bank account, thereby getting the best exchange rate. If your are not a US citizen, you may need a Visa so check with the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate/ trade office. You can also try this website.

I live in Iran, an easy Visa & a cheap plane ticket would be enough! ===> So I will never visit Toronto under this circumstance!!
