I think that most parents do, Even of you buy clothes at wal-mart they tend to be more expensive, but what can you do? Kids need clothes. My middle child is starting school this year with her brother and they have to wear uniforms and after adding up the cost of 2 sets girl and boy its going to come to over $150.00

Company's gouge because they can.

Only when parents allow their kids to get sucked into the superficial game of going with the marketing trends and being one up on their peers. Quality does not always mean name brands or most expensive. To buy something expensive simply for the brand is foolish when something else is just as functional. It's also teaching kids bad habits when it comes to handling money and being economically responsible.

my kids are all under 8 years old and their clothes aren't as expensive as mine or my husband's

but i do spend more money on their clothes, they have to have new clothes 2 or 3 times a year because they grow so fast, mine are fine until they wear out.

I buy better brands for myself, they grow out of their clothes before they have time to wear them out, so i get theirs at discount department stores

i do make sure my children have nice clothes and look good
