Graduates with technical degrees can make well over £20k in first job if they're not too fussy. Those with conscience or a mission in life do much worse. A professional engineer with some good experience can earn his/her age, more or less.

Consultants can make £500/day depending on the consultees.

In America I think its about $5.15 per hour. I know its over $5.00. Idk about the UK though. Try Google.
