You'd have to call the vets in your area. The cost does increase with the size of the pet. The things that you should ask are:
a) what is included in the cost, like anesthesia, post-operative pain medication, etc.
b) who monitors anesthesia, a licensed veterinary technician? what monitors do they use?
c) what is required for the dog to be in the hospital, such as vaccines.
Remember, although this is a routine surgery, it is still surgery. Things can go wrong, and you want to make sure that your vet can not only recognize problems, but deal with them competently as well. If the cost is a bit more, but the clinic seems to be better staffed, and more knowledgeable, I would judge by something other than price. Remember that you get what you pay for, and cheap surgery may be just that ... cheap.
Good luck, and call around.

Small breeds are under $100.00 to fix and they weigh up to about 25lbs. So expect to pay between 100 and 200 dollars for a 70lb dog. Also, you'll probably have to pay extra if it's a female and she's in heat or pregnant when they do the procedure. Most adoption places already have the animal fixed, or they offer a discount at various vets offices. I'd check with the people running the adoptions.

My domestic dog replace into neutered at 9 weeks or so. The defend did it before we even got here across him. He replace into superb with the surgical operation (we picked him out and observed him the day after). No they did no longer furnish a unfastened recheck, I wish that alter into the case. curiously his stitches did no longer dissolve one hundred% and he's already had a vet sparkling and open up a small section (it became a touch contaminated). and in all possibility he will could desire to be checked back, b/c the scar seems a touch pink to me.

My pup used to be neutered at 9 weeks or so. The safe haven did it earlier than we even found him. He used to be exceptional with the surgical procedure (we picked him out and adopted him the day after). No they didn't offer a free recheck, I want that was the case. Apparently his stitches didn't dissolve one hundred% and he is already had a vet clean and open up a small phase (it became slightly infected). And commonly he'll have to be checked again, b/c the scar appears a little red to me.

Depends where you live. Often the spay and neuter "clinics" are less expensive, but its still pricey---and quite necessary.
