Depending on where you live, SWAT and other tactical groups are paid differantly. Some departments are rich enough to offer hazardous pay while other cannot. Your insurance benefits are definitly increased. This all depends on what type of tactical work you do. If you are an entry team officer, you're gonna make quite a bit more than a patrolman. If you are a CNT (Crisis Negociation Team) member, you're not gonna make a lot more than a patrolman.

S.W.A.T officers get paid a little more than regular officers since S.W.A.T is a specialty position.

SWAT are just members of the police department, they get paid by rank and time in grade normaly, Most departments have a bonus pay for being on speicalised duties.
In larger departments SWAT members are full time SWAT members, in smaller departments they are just regular officers doing patrol or other duties but will get called in to SWAT duties if and when an emergany happens.
you have K9 units, bomb units, hostage units, computer fraud units, domestic or speical crime units, investigators( dectitives) the larger the department, the more specialised departmetns you will have.

not that good... do not get into military or law enforcement for money... also... do not listen to what that girl wrote in your question about SEALs... very few SEALs were ever marines because inter-military transfer is hard to obtain, and SEALs do not recruit, as she had suggested. Also, you do not have to have ANY prior military service to become a SEAL... she said an exemplary record was required.... BS... you can sign with the navy with whats called a SEAL challenge contract which states that as soon as you graduate navy boot camp, and assuming you pass the SEAL PST, you are guaranteed a spot at BUD/s

Not WELL enough... I wanted to add that you REALLY have to improve your English/grammar skills if you have any interest in police work much less S.W.A.T. or the like.
