I would say no...you are being compensated already. The only alternative I know of is to start a home based business. There are no regulations on that because you cannot predict your income. If your business thrives, you would be able to get off of your long term disability.

If you are getting disability benefits, we have good news
for you. Social Security’s work incentives and Ticket to Work
programs can help you if you are interested in working.
Special rules make it possible for people receiving Social Security disability benefits or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to work and still receive monthly payments until they can work on a regular basis.
And, if you cannot continue working because of your medical condition, your benefits can start again—you may not have to file a new application.
Work incentives include:
1) Continued cash benefits for a time while you work;
2)Continued Medicare or Medicaid while you work; and
3)Help with education, training and rehabilitation to start a new line of work.

If it's Social Security Disability you can take a job for a year to see if you're capable of doing it, without losing your benefits. Be prepared to pay taxes on your salary and Soc. Sec., tho.

If you are on disability that means that you can't work so if you can work you shouldn't be on disibility... but it ultimately depends on your what your policy states. If they find you working they can terminate your benefits. You could even go to jail for insurance fraud.

Only illegally. You are receiving disability because you're not supposed to be able to work. Therefore, if you are able to work, you shouldn't be taking taxpayer money.
