My right pinky finger has been asleep for days now. The only possible thing that I can think of that could've caused it was that I may have slept on it. That's what a nurse told me. But why would it still be numb after four days? Has something like this ever happened to you before? Do you think it's something else, like a symptom of anemia? I'm not too concerned yet, but I'm curious to hear comments.

This has happened to me too. My thumb and first finger was tingling and partly numb for two weeks. It was just a pinched nerve and it's very common. Don't make things worse by telling yourself it's something more serious. It's no big deal and it happens all the time.

If you just slept on it, the numbness would have gone away as soon as you started using the hand. Doesn't sound normal to me. Could be any number of things - for example a pinched nerve or a blood/skin disease. I hope you see a doctor soon. Don't be afraid. Better to "nip it in the bud" while the problem is limited. Good luck - and I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Perhaps you've pinched your ulnar nerve - funny bone. How's you're ring finger? Does it hurt, or is it just numb? Check it out with a Neurologist - it could be worse than you think. Hopefully you slept wrong and it will go away by itself.

You could have a pinched nerve or a lack of Vitamin B-12. If you're a smoker that can contribute to poor circulation also.
