Meat tenderizer is a natural product. It is an enzyme made from the papaya (paw-paw) tree.
If you live in a climate where the papaya grows you can wrap the meat in the leaves overnight and it will be very tender and tasty.

Rinse the steak, cover it in raw sea salt (available from grocery stores) for 15 minutes then brush it all off and broil. Tender and tasty (it keeps the juices in)

the best way to tenderise beef is to put slices of kiwi fruit on the beef and leave it for no less than 2 hours remove kiwi slices before cooking. It works!!!

Trim excess fat from meat.
Beat meat (no pun intended) with a meat mallet.
Soak meat (overnight) in 2 cups of cognac OR two cups of whiskey OR 2 cups of red wine (dry) AND 4 cups of water in a tightly covered plastic container.
Before cooking, season with liberal amounts of salt and pepper (use other seasonings 'if' desired) and cook thoroughly.
