eeeewww... grease? yuck.
Actually, caring for dreads is easy and simple- first, keep them CLEAN- I personally love to use Dr.Bronners castille soap- peppermint is the best. It makes your hair tingle and your dreads smell clean and great. wash a couple times a week in the summer heat and once a week or so in the winter. because washing the dreads too much can be unpleasant- many people keep their dreads wrapped to keep dirt and dust out of them. Next, leave them alone. Split them if they start to grow together if you want them separated- or else leave them alone if you want one big fatty knappy dread( I personally dont really like these but its up to you) - next- nothing. just keep them really really clean. thats the best thing you can do. and it feels frickin AWESOME to scratch your head really really good before you wash. I have had dreads for years and years and years now and they are beautiful and long and healthy. and clean.
