Lust, control and power.
All of these teachers, at some point, pushed their conscience to the side and decided to go for it and commit this foul act.
They aint crazy and I do believe they actually begin to love their victims at some point, hence Mary Kate marrying her victim and this recent teacher after doing time, pursued the boy again.
I believe the position of teacher could point to some deep down desire to control, somehow, I don't know. And its especially easier to manipulate a child rather than a grown man for whatever purpose.
I believe these women had something bad happen to them when they were young - sexually.

Aren't schools trying to cut down on teacher's tobacco smoking?
Perhaps they are taking up pole smoking to compensate.
