If I understand it correctly, when the Super Highway is built, there will BE no more illegal immigration ... it will all be legal ... just read an article by Prof. Corsi, where he says, among other things:

I continue to argue that a "follow the money" strategy must be utilized to understand why President Bush has refused to close our border with Mexico, pushing instead for "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation that would allow the vast majority of illegal immigrants now in the U.S. to remain under a "guest worker" or "pathway to citizenship" provision. The underlying agenda of the Bush administration seems to be to create a NAFTA-plus environment in which workers, trade and capital will be allowed to flow unimpeded within the trilateral North American community consisting of the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This is scary stuff ... you can find the whole article here:

Scary stuff .. :(

Did you read the whole article? Thought not ... and if anyone has any information to the contrary, and can back it up, I would be most interested to hear it ....

What I really wanted to do was change the whole debate from "should we give illegals food stamps" to the wider picture ... :) Some of you got the general idea, for which I'm eternally grateful ...:)

I've been following the North American Union for a while. It seems like an inevitable future, an age of political unification around the world. New nations will be formed-- superstates. United States of North America, United states of Europe, etc..

I do however agree that Canda and US should join forces. There is little reason for there to be a division between us. Canadians believe the Quebeckers (who speak different language) should be united with them. Why not people who speak the same language be united?

Mexico however is a problem. I believe it will take a long time to assimilate them into american society. We will get cheap labor and will help us out a lot but it still worrys me.

"Why is NAFTA such a surprise for everyone? The Clinton administration set everything in motion...this is old news."

NAFTA isn't a surprise to anyone- its NAFTA + that is the surprise. Whether a democrat or republican is in office in 2008 it wont' matter. They both want a North American Union.

Bush Jr. is picking up where clinton left off. Although it does seem weird how it took so long for Bush to be doing this. He should've been focusing on it since 2000.

Wading thru all this crap to find a real question is always the same with you crack politicos. Your attempt to spout your ridiculous position is your real intent. The sky is not really falling!

NAFTA is the work of Congress from several years ago and is only now coming into fruition. I have been saying all along to the unwitting anti-illegals on this post, there will not be too many changes on the immigration reform. All the Sheriff Arpaios in the world are not going to undo and unravel the intricacies of NAFTA and what it represents. Isn't that the larger question? Thanks, Sashie. I doubt if you will feel the hysteria effects in your own backyard.

Perhaps you don't remember the Berlin Wall? Remember be patriotic, be scared!! Oh and if you truly did believe in following the money, than you would have seen thatg the ruplican conservatives were bought by big companies such as Haliburton and oil, a long time ago.

Many in Canada are now rethinking about open borders. A change of their open heart-they are finding-that others took advantage. And they see some flaws.

Why is NAFTA such a surprise for everyone? The Clinton administration set everything in motion...this is old news. But thanks for the post for those that did not know about it. It is quite a comprehensive endeavor.

This is just the opinion of another biased point of view cherry picking information and trying to alarm people just to share his own point of view. Shame on you!!

That is very scary and the last thing we want or need. We seriously need to get Bush impeached.

We've already approved building the fence. Yeah....professors are known for their biased opinions, not necessarily knowledge based.
