my dear 70 year old mother does that alot. She just got back from a year teaching English in China, and has done the same in Ghana, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and others.

Most weren't really 3rd world except maybe Ghana, but sure aren't up to western standards. She loves it and does it for next to no money at all.

Sure I would. I probably wouldnt touch the money even after I got back. I would invest it all and become a very rich person.

BTW, Ive been to 3rd world before. Its not that bad.

Yes. I would like to be of help while I was there, in any way I could. I would use some of the million dollars to buy a modest home for myself since I have no home of my own. The rest could go to others' needs.

Yes, I just stay where I am. I would find it hard to move to a first-world country for $1 million for a year.

That's easy I would for sure. Just get a bunch of credit cards and live it up over there. Maybe find me a 3rd word hottie while I'm at it. So many Americans are so fat that the hot ones get too much attention.

I think it would be fun. I stayed in Turkey once for 6 weeks.

Depends on what country. If its country thats going through a major war right now, then no. I probably wouldn't end up with money anyway, because then I would be dead. But if it was a mostly peaceful country, then yes.

Sure, as long as I get to pick the country. Would end up in some South Pacific island country, fish all day, swim in the surf and sell my catch at the local village.

Then, after that year is done, and I am totally in shape, toned up, and tanned, I am going to be one hawt millionaire!!

Yeah, I'd start a commune so people could work together for survival of their own culture, not just sit in a refugee camp and wait for some war to end. What if they had a war, and nobody came?

Third world countries can be a great place to live. There are many large, rich, dirty cities that I am avoiding now.

definitely. not just for the money, either.

it would be a great experience... maybe change the way i view my life.

when i would get back, i would use the money to start a charity to help those in need there.

maybe i will go to laos when i am a doctor. :)
