God has promised us a very rewarding afterlife. one so grand that it is impossible to describe fully.

all he asks is that we follow some very simple, moral rules.

God gave us rules to live by for a good reason and told us what the consequence would be if we did not follow them. Nothing pushy about that. If you run a red light and you see a cop there on the corner, do you not know you are going to get a ticket and pay a fine? Why was that law made? Just to be making laws? Or was it for your safety as well as others? IF you chose to stop as the law said, you get the good consequence of no fine to pay. Now I ask, is that being pushy? If your loved one is the one that is in the interseciton when a you come through it on red and it kills them and you go to jail for killing them by breaking the law that says you need to stop on red, is that being pushy? You had the option of doing what the law said that was for your own good and protection but you chose break it. So is it pushy for you to get the consequence that you chose? I would call that justice. After all, you had the facts, you knew the law and what it said as well as the consequence for not following it. So how is that being pushy by letting you have what YOU chose?

The God I pray to doesn't punish us for arbitrary things such as swearing or having negative feelings for someone.

Were given free choice. In our mind and hearts we know when we are hurting others and/or ourselves. Hopefully at those difficult times in life we meet just that right person(s) who can help guide us through our problems.

I have a lot of negative experiences w/ several
different religion's, 1 in particular basically said, 'it's us vs 'them'. I learned a lot from that, and I was only 9. I also learned how adults can twist young minds-SCARY! But with my mothers help and guidance, along with many other people or interventions -I like to call them, you learn and gain so much. Prayer is a big source of strength.
This last year has been awful, I lost my mother, and my husband lost his mother. But somehow
we still continue on. Hope this helps.

God is not only perfect love, but He is perfect justice.

His justice rightly demands that all sin and wrong must be punished. We all recognise that a judge must uphold the law and justice must be done, otherwise anarchy will reign everywhere. But God's perfect love is also shown, by sending Jesus into our world to take in His own sinless self all our sins and guilt. If there had been any other way God would certainly have found it.

Jesus suffered on the cross the death penalty our sins rightly deserve. Because the consequences of our sins were laid on Him, He experienced the hell of being cut off from His Father as He hung there on the cross.

"My God, my God why have you forsaken me".

On the cross Jesus took on Himself the effects of human sin; all the feelings of isolation and abandonment, all the pain and suffering, all the rejection and anger of the whole of humanity.

Just before He died, Jesus cried out 'It is finished!' His work of saving us from sin and death and hell was complete.

The bridge has been re-opened between God and us. Friendship with God is there for all who come to Jesus in love and trust.

There is no fiery burning hell; that's a manmade idea, not Almighty God's.

The long-taught idea of “hell” or “inferno” depends upon the doctrine of a human soul being something separate and distinct from the human body that cannot die; spiritual and invisible, something that we cannot feel with our sense of touch. Common sense tells us if that were so, the pain of fire could not be felt, as fire is an earthly element requiring the physical body to sense. Also, the Bible is very clear in stating that the soul is subject to death, saying: “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4, 20)

Pagan religions are noted for teaching red-hot hells. The ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, Phoenicians, Persians, Grecians and Hindus taught flaming hells. The Buddhists teach a hell wherein people cook and sizzle in blazing kettles. Is the Bible hell as hot as the pagans paint theirs? Here is the answer.

Hell corresponds to the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades. It also says that hell comes from the English word helan, meaning “to conceal.” So the early meaning of the word “hell” carried no thought of any kind of heat. It merely meant “concealed.” We have found, too, that the original Hebrew word, usually translated “hell” in English Bibles, is Sheol. Now what does Sheol mean? It simply means “a hollow place.” So the original Hebrew word perfectly corresponds with the original or early meaning of the English word “hell.”

The vital question is, Did the inspired Hebrew Bible writers say that conscious life and red-hot activity exist in Sheol or hell? No, quite the opposite! Instead of blazing fire it is described as a “land of darkness.” (Job 10:21) Instead of a place of soul-chilling shrieks it is described as a place of “silence.” (Ps. 115:17) The Catholic Douay Bible, at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, says: “The living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more. Neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten. Whatsoever thy hand is able to do, do it earnestly: for neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge, shall be in hell [Sheol, AS], whither thou art hastening.” So, since the “dead know nothing more,” or as the King James Version says, “the dead know not any thing,” it would be impossible for them to know conscious torment. And since there is no work in hell, how can there be activity, red-hot or otherwise?

Perhaps you think that God is good and will therefore overlook your sins. But if you were guilty of terrible crimes in a civil court and said to the judge, "Judge, I am guilty, but I believe that you are a good man and will therefore overlook my crimes," the judge would probably respond by saying, "You are right about one thing; I am a good man, and it's because of my goodness that I am going to see that justice is done, that you are punished for your crimes."

The very thing that many are hoping will save them on Judgment Day, God's "goodness," will be the very thing that will condemn them. If God is good, He should punish murderers. liars, thieves, etc., and Hell will be their dreadful fate.

What a terrible place Hell must be. If you read in the newspaper that a man received a $5 fine for a crime, you could conclude that his crime was insignificant. But if a man received multiple life sentences, you could conclude that his crime was heinous. In the same way, we can catch a glimpse of how terrible sin must be in the sight of God by looking to the punishment given for it--eternal punishment.

Ungrateful humanity never bothers to thank God for His wonderful blessings of color, light, food, joy, beauty, love, and laughter, so He will take those blessings away from them. Instead of proving their gratitude by obedience to His will, they use His name to curse. Their punishment will be just, but severe to the uttermost.

Take the time to read what Jesus said Hell was like in Mark 9:43-48.

I am afraid for you... please, look honestly into the mirror of the Law, then seek the "water" that cleanses every sin. If you don't believe what I am saying about the reality of Hell, it means you think God is corrupt (that He hasn't the moral backbone to seek justice), that Jesus was a liar, that the Apostles were false witnesses, that God's promises are nothing but prefabricated lies, and there is no greater insult to God than to call Him a liar.

By doing so, you are adding to your transgressions.

Are you asking why God would let people go to hell after they died because they didn't follow HIS "rules"? Well, I'm certainly not an evangelist but I do know that God gave us free will to do as we please and sometimes our actions obviously have consequences. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.....to die for our sins. Ok, I know, you want to know where I'm going with this...bear with me...so do I.....

As with any parents, they hope they have done right by their kids, giving them the morals, love, everything they need to lead well rounded lives. They hope they have taught the difference between right and wrong, etc. But, even the best laid plans by parents can go goofy and their children can become murderers, thieves, etc. and when caught, they (the children) must pay the price of their actions....whether its community service, jail time or the death penalty. This is how God deals with us (His children) when we go off path. He would love for us to follow in his life plans, I don't know any parent who don't wish for their kids to follow, but when we go off on our own tangent, we have to be prepared to pay the piper, more or less. God doesn't like losing any of his children to the pits of Hell. But sometimes it happens.

God is a kind and merciful God. That doesn't sound all that kind and merciful to me!! But, its just an allegory to make you live a good life anyway since there is no such physical place as hell - at least not as its been pictured - down in the center of the earth. Nothing there but hot molten lava and crap. Hell is what we make it and its here on earth if its anywhere....like being married to my ex - that was hell on earth!!

He wouldn't.
Hell is the grave.
Matthew 27:60 says Jesus was in the grave
Acts 2:31 says Jesus was in hell
The story they use to preach hell is in luke about a rich man who went to hell. No one had went to heaven or hell at this time.
1Corinthians 15:20 says Jesus was the first to ever be resurrected to heavenly life He was the one telling the story so he hadn't died yet. The wages of sin is death. Not eternal torment

He has not!!Let good people die and go to hell.God saved Adam and Eve and explained to them how they could be saved to.That is what the
first recorded murder was about how to be saved.Able BELIEVED what
his mother and dad taught him that would stay Gods judgment and Save
him. (FAITH IN GODS WORD).
Able worshiped God by Faith when he believed God and sacrificed a
lamb and put it's blood on the altar. Cain did NOT believe Gods Word
and tried to please God by the works of his hands.God REJECTED IT.
Cain was given a second chance but refused to change his way so God
CURSED CAIN AND MARKED HIM.
There is two choices today just like when Able and Cain were here.
(1) MAN MADE RELIGION OF WORKS to earn heaven

(2)Believe Gods Word put your FAITH IN JESUS GODS SON AND RECIEVE ETERNAL LIFE! The Choice is yours God is calling you.

Hell is a place where people experience the Just consequences of the harm they did to others.

God's rules are intended to minimize the harm that we do to each other... and when we violate the rules, we increase evil and harm and pain in human society.

Cordially,
John
