I am a teacher and have a job. I am just running so short of money. I am a single mom of 2 children. I work very hard to do the right things. I am not wreckless with my money. I pay all my bills when I get paid once a month. Then I buy my medications. I take 6 prescriptions. It is 10 days until I get paid again. By then, I will be very ill if not dead without insulin. I am so tired of this financial struggle. High utility bills and high gasoline prices are literally killing me.

some cities have a community action center, or something of that sort. they will pay your electric or gas bills for you for a month or two, when you are struggling. have you thought about seeing if your local health department can help with your insulin situation? can't you borrow 25 bucks from a friend? if you're talking about life and death, literally, you know someone that would loan it to you.

I do not know where you live but in my community there is a Trustee's office where you can get help with prescriptions. Also, contact your doctor or local hospital (Diabetes educator) and they will be able to give you a list of other resources. Until then, stick to your ADA diet.
