I'm not generalizing or trying to say that is true, I just want to know why a lot of people think that.

The stereotype exists because it's true. Election and poll results show that.

Why it's true is a separate question. I think that is because the republican party is viewed as pro-military and people want a candidate that supports them.

Well for one reason, most people vote their paychecks. If you were an environmentalist, whose job it was to research deforestation. You would probably vote Democrat, as they are the party that will most likely bolster your work.

Most people in the military believe that the Republican party is the most likely to increase their wages. While their are exceptions to this rule, take Carl Levin from Michigan, a democrat who has worked long and hard to bolster the military, most improvements to the armed forces come from the Republican Party.

That's really it. I don't consider myself to be a Republican or a Democrat, because I don't vote party lines. I vote for who I think will do the best job, and has the same thoughts and ideals that I do. A lot of the time they are Republican, but sometimes they are Democrat.

Its just people making generalizations.

It's not a stereotype.....polls and elections have shown this to be true as of late.

I served and most of the people I met through my 9 years were conservative...not necessarily republican. Oh and no Democratic president in a long time has done anything beneficial to the military way of life.

The only male in my family that has not served in the military is my little brother, a pro Bush republican, ...Where are you getting your information?

Funny because the Republicans all skipped service, while the Democrats were all ex-servicemen.

Except for McCain the bunch of them have duped the population through their conservative media buddies

It might be correct, because I am a military retiree and we saw how screwed up the dimocRATic-Socialist Party was during

Republicans have usually had as one of their tenets a strong military and if you are in the military you have to like that

becasue so many on the other side deplore the military and any use of force under any conditions, and since no one can disagree with them, then all soldiers have to be bad and republican.
