No one knows, or it would be more of a tourist trap then it is today(loch Ness). I doubt it, because a big monster would probably rather live in the ocean than a lake.

A similar creature to Nessie has shown up in mythology and legend as well as sightings in many other lakes, particularly northern lakes.
We see the Chinese Dragon being a good example of this creature so it is possible that a large sea eel/snake will be discovered.

a lot of people claim they have seen something out there. but i doubt it very much i think someone just wanted to get publicity out of it and maybe some money a lot more tourist for the scottish.
