Always!

And I love how when I don't let someone cut in because they knew better than to wait until the last minute to get over while the rest of us have waited a half hour ... Yeah, I just *love* it when I get the finger for not allowing some jerk to cut in front of me.

Yes, yes. You go right ahead, King, because you're exempt from waiting in line like the other 100 of us here.

Houston (oy vey!)

Ohh Heck YA !! From Oklahoma actually But used to live in Miami.. I look at it as Karma.. If I am in a hurry, I have noticed that people will let me in.. I have been able to move 3 or 4 lanes across in standstill traffic and manuver thru like a fish swimming upstream.. you just need eye contact and civility... However when I'm not in a hurry.. I let others in and I ALWAYS !! Wave and give others common courtesy.. However there are the times when luck has not been on your side that day.. and you have to learn how to use the nose of your vehicle as a traffic deterrent, Ergo Bulldose.. And when the Wench behind me that is inevitably on her cell phone starts pushing on her horn and honking manically like trying to give a fat guy CPR.. I wave even more vigirously to her.. (PS I am a fat guy.. so no flames)

No, it's not necessary. You have to let them merge by law, so why should you be thanked for just doing what you're supposed to do? Besides, when you're driving, your attention is supposed to be on the traffic ahead of you and each car should be seen as just the vehicle. That's why they have turn signals and other exterior lights so you can see what's going on and what they intend to do. The car that merged should be keeping his hands on the wheel and eyes forward and not be worrying about "offending" the driver behind him.

Yes, absolutely...California. I have lived in many parts of the US, I have found California drivers to be the most conscience of where and what they are doing...unless they are talking on a cell phone..then it is anybody's guess as to what they will do. Miami has the worst drivers, followed closely by Washington DC. Good luck

I live in NC for right now in the USA.

No, I do not, b/c I'm too parinoid to let go of my scooter with one hand when I'm in hevy trafic. NC has the worst drivers in the States, they don't even know how to drive in 1/2 an inch of snow, it's so sad...

I only do hand signals when I think they're too ingorant or not payin' attention to see my little blinking turn light signal... but I don't wave...

I only wave at other bikers, motorcyclists, scooter people when I feel it's safe to let go with one hand LOL! ! !
Mainly b/c cars poop in my face, I don't like them LOL!

Sure do down here in Florida but also just wave a certain finger for those that cut me off as well ;-)

Depends. If I cut them off, then generally I will. But at the same time, if they cut me off and don't give me a "wave" then ill speed up and cut them off. Been driving in Seattle #4 worst traffic in the US. for 10years now.

Yes, I always do. And I would expect the same from others that I let in.

Yes, as it can defuse anger from other motorists who have waited patiently in line for the past hour (but may not realise I'm missing my favourite TV show).

Yes, and a lot of the time I'm the one letting others in. I figure if you're friendly, it spreads and eventually gets back to you. Same for if you're rude.
