A country, very mountainous country, of 70,000,000 inhabitants who apparently are no slouches when it comes to protecting their own It is also a theocratic state, meaning that religion is overall, and they can, no doubt, easily be whipped up into an entire nation of suicide bombers, et al..

The US is a democracy. You had it under the Shah. But when the Islamic fundamentalists decided they wanted to rule the earth and take total control of your life and everyone else's, globally, then Iran has no rights to stand on.
There will never be peace in the middle east. And it's not just because of arabs and jews. It is because of all the different factions of Islam. Some peaceful, some bloodthirsty.

Actually, if the US would "mind our own business" as you say, then Iran would cease to exist. Israel only allows them to exist because of the US. Lets dont forget that Israel already has nuclear weapons, and Iran only hopes that someday it will have nukes. Iran should thank the US every day for keeping the reins as tight as we do on Israel

You're a sick person. Iran currently has 100 of their Republican Guard in Lebanon firing missiles at Israel. They are funding Hezbollah to the tune of $100M per year.
How can you separate their stated goal of wiping Israel off the map from anything else they do or stand for?
Unfortunately, it's not up to the *people* of Iran what their nation stands for or does ... it's up to the mullahs ... and they want to destroy Israel.
Iran will soon find itself with a world of hurt if they don't join the rest of the world in renouncing violence.
